7th OECD World Forum on Well-being begins in Rome, November 4-6

From November 4 to 6, 2024, the 7th edition of the OECD World Forum on Well-being is being held at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, co-organised with the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, with the collaboration of ISTAT, the Italian National Statistical Institute, and the support of the Bank of Italy.

The event, titled "Strengthening Well-being Approaches for a Changing World," is part of the activities of the Italian G7 Presidency in 2024. High-level representatives from G7 economic and financial organizations, policymakers, statisticians, academics, and experts from the private sector and civil society are attending. Among the speakers will be the Minister of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti, the OECD Secretary-General, Mathias Cormann, and the President of the National Institute of Statistics, Francesco Maria Chelli.

This event marks the return of the Forum to Italy, after the first edition held in Palermo in 2004. Over the past twenty years, the Forums have stimulated action in various fields—policies, statistics, research, business, and civil society—playing a central role in placing people’s well-being at the heart of measurement, policies, and practices.

The Forum is an essential gathering to advance the ongoing paradigm shift to center policies and collective action on inclusive, sustainable well-being.
