Co-producing data and analysis on well-being, inequalities, and poverty

Parallel Session - Involving citizens, especially those from under-represented or hard-to-reach groups, in data production and analysis is crucial for ensuring the relevance and accuracy of information on issues affecting their well-being. Integrating diverse viewpoints, lived experience and direct knowledge in these processes help to identify challenges and solutions that may be overlooked by experts, and ensure that the resulting data align with community and population needs. Co-production of data is also particularly important for the measurement of child well-being, where traditional survey approaches have limitations in fully reflecting children’s viewpoints and experiences. Opening up data production and analysis can also help to build trust between the public and institutions, and enhance transparency in data processes and decision-making. This session showcased practice examples and research related to the co-production of data and analysis on well-being (including child well-being), inequalities, and poverty.

This session was moderated by Elva Bova, Head of the Unit Analysis and Statistics, European Commission.
